Red, a nice little short animation I came across just there. It’s like Little Red Riding Hood but not. Super cool though.

Augmented Reality Olympus Demo

by Sean Smyth on May.29, 2010, under Cool Links, Random Stuff, Websites

This is definitely one of the coolest and most useful examples of augmented reality I’ve seen. It allows you to go through some of the features of the camera, taking photos of yourself, videos and photo effects. It’s just cool.

Try it out for yourself here!

Simply fantastic short film using company logos and mascots as it’s characters and props. It’s fantastically animated and is just amazing.

Google Logo goes Low Res

by Sean Smyth on May.13, 2010, under Photography, Random Stuff

Nice time Lapse Video from the Google offices in London. The camera took a photo ever 5 seconds so the 5 and a half hours that they spent making the thing is condensed to 1:20.

Just makes me think, what do they actually do work-wise there? I mean, 5 hours just on this AT WORK? I wonder what the boss would say if he found out. :P

The Humble Indie Game Bundle

by Sean Smyth on May.12, 2010, under Cool Links, Random Stuff, Websites

Get a collection of games including “World of Goo”, “Gish” and “Aquaria” and pay whatever you want for them. The idea is that the games will release their code, people pay what they want for them and they can choose where the money goes. The choice is directly to the developers, to charity or a mixture of both.

It’s a really cool project and you can read more about it / buy the games using the link below.

ChrisMcGarry.com is an awesome site

by Sean Smyth on May.08, 2010, under Cool Links, Websites

Chris-McGarry.com is one hell of a site. Created by Chris Coyier of CSS-Tricks

Chris is a singer/songwriter and one of the problem with lots of musician’s sites is that when you click a link on the page, the music track you were listening to stops. Chris Coyier has cleverly avoided this problem.

It’s all technically one page but content gets revealed and hidden depending on what you click. It uses Javascript which will probably surprise most people as it could well pass as a Flash site. This means the music keeps going and you get to enjoy cool little animations to boot! :D
Enjoy! (and click Gary’s face 3 times).
