I was at a lecture from Mark Swaine the Creative Director of Squire today which proved to be an excellent and informative class.
One thing I came away with though was a feeling that I should really delve into AfterEffects a lot more. I’ve messed around with it but Mark says that he loves using Flash and AfterEffects and, although it might sound a bit stupid, that was a combination I can’t say I’ve ever thought of using before.
He showed us how they can be combined to make some truly dazzling websites and videos. Granted, these companies have big budgets and years of experience under their belts but this stuff is just awesome.
Two of my friends (@rosmad being one) were looking at my site today while I was beside them and I was embarrassed by the theme. You know, it’s not even good and it was chosen because of a “it’ll do for now” kind of attitude.
I mean seriously, who likes half naked ladies?! I know I don’t but I’ll leave an image of the header photo in this post as a keep safe……
Buh bye crap theme!
New theme is called Notepad Chaos and can be downloaded free from SmashingMagazine.
I’ve a blog for a project I’m working on and I’ve a Facebook Page for the same. I’ve no problem displaying the blog posts on the FaceBook page’s wall, it’s the next step that’s gettin’ me.
I want the fans of my FB page to be able to see the latest update on their home wall’s. It’s nothing new. Lamebook.com and Komplett.ie both do it but I don’t see how they are doing it either.
Google didn’t yield anything for me and it’s something that’d be very handy.
And do you lack an iPhone or one of those new fandangled phones that do everything? Fear not for this will interest you.. Enter: Ag Tweet.
This service is cool. It allows you to send a SMS or text message to an Irish number and that, in turn, updates your Twitter’s feed. If you have free texts then this won’t even cost you a dime.
It’s better than forking out for the English Number and it literally takes 20 seconds to set up (including putting the number in your phone)
And for those a bit weary, there is more info here and just to prove it actually works;
I dunno if people know or not but there is a really cool Firefox add-on available which makes blogging and absolute cinch. It’s called ScribeFire and it’s home is on the bottom bar of the Firefox window. Simply click it to bring up a window and then you can simply drag images, text and link from a site that you are currently viewing to the ScribeFire window. It just makes adding images and stuff so easy.
Below is a collection of my favourite shots that I’ve taken and processed over the past week or so. Some of them are earlier than March but that would have just led to an unattractive title then, wouldn’t it?
Seeing as I’m taking more Photographs than ever before, I’ve decided that I’m going to have a dedicated Photography section on the site. It’s not going to be just a category like it is now. I’m thinking a way to display the images. There are a few Wordpress plugins available to do such a job (eg) but I’ll explore other options and decide again.
