BOT: Final Project

Posted by Sean Smyth on 21 Sep 2011 / 0 Comment

BOT from Padraig Birch on Vimeo.

This is a highlights reel of my team’s college final year project, BOT. We got a 1.1 for the project overall.

BOT is a platform/puzzle hybrid game, and the central part of a larger project which spans several platforms.

Tin lives on earth in the year 2112, one hundred years after the extinction of mankind in a city now inhabited by robots. He wakes up one day to find that he is different, he feels different, and after a couple of chance meetings he finds out that he is not alone.

Flourish: Final Project

Posted by Sean Smyth on 04 Nov 2010 / 1 Comment

Flourish is by far the biggest project I’ve worked on. It’s the joint efforts of 4 students who produced Flourish over several months. It was our Final Project in my our 3rd year of the course and my roles was programming.

Above is a video of someone playing through Flourish.

You can play through Flourish yourself by clicking HERE and you can view the development blog if you are into that sort of thing :) .

Quake Live is set for Mac and Linux Users

Posted by Sean Smyth on 27 Feb 2009 / 3 Comments

quake live

This is only good news. Currently, I have to “borrow” my housemates Windows machines to indulge in id’s Quake Live but with the news that Mac and Linux compatibility is high on the company’s priority list that is soon be a thing of the past. I can’t wait. I hate the fact that I have to borrow a machine to play of reboot and boot into Windows using Bootcamp if I want to play.

A full interview can be read here at Joystiq. I’ll be up for pwning all you noobs if you are up for it. My username is imLOST (I was going to add a link to my online profile but I don’t think I can.) So add me if you want. I love a good duel, I do.

Can you spin the Black Circle?

Posted by Sean Smyth on 11 May 2008 / 0 Comment

I stumbled across a cool little flash game this morning and I thought I should share it. It’s a game that requires you to use gravity to get this ball thing to get the the goal.

It’s hard enough. I got to level 11 and I think that that is as far as I’ll go. I’ve tried LOADS of times.

Anywho, have fun! Give it a go and let me know how you get on.

Spin the black circle

EDIT//: I’m on level 15 at the moment, struggling through…
