I have a dream

Posted by Sean Smyth on 11 May 2009 / 1 Comment

I have had a dream. A dream where I was friends with an SD card. Not just any SD card either. This SD card had personality. This SD card could talk to me. We laughed, we cried and I didn’t even know his capacity. And now I’ll never know either.

I used to carry him in an SD card reader so that there would be less chance of losing him in my pocket. He didn’t like this. He found it restrictive in that little snug compartment. He thought it fun to jump out of it and watch me come to a cold sweat everytime I pulled out the empty the card reader. He thought it hilarious. I didn’t.

I dropped the tissue in the toilet and pressed the button for flush. I watched as the tissue swirled and spiraled. I watched and SD, my friend, swirled and spiraled, swirled and spiraled and zoom around the U bend at a dizzying speed.

“Feck it” I said, “I’m not going in there.”

I don’t know where the dream came from or what it means but one thing is for sure; actually two things. One, it was one of the most interesting dreams I’ve ever had and two, SD was a stupid idiot.

No Technology Day tomorrow

Posted by Sean Smyth on 23 Feb 2009 / 0 Comment

For college I have to go one day without technology to show how defendant and reliant we are on technology. Simple, eh? One day without a phone, TV, computer I can do but then there is also the fact that I’m unable to use a toaster or kettle in the morning which just plain sucks.

I dunno what I’m going to do without my tea in the morning. And to top it all off, tomorrow is Pancake Tuesday so I can’t even make them without feeling badly.

Feck it, I’ll just make them on Wednesday instead defeating the whole purpose of the original meaning of Shrove Tuesday. Oh well. Farewell internetz!

Here is a cool Navigation element that is usable on a website if anyone is interested.
