I had a 9 day internship opportunity at the Irish Fair of Minnesota, USA over the summer which I got through the Atlantic Academy. Over the course of my internship I did some of their social media and I photographed the entire weekend for them too.
While there I saw an opportunity to put together a sort of promo/highlights video for the Fair as it was something that I thought was missing from my research before I went over there. So I took it upon myself to shoot and edit a short reel for them over the duration of the Fair.
Since then, the director of the Fair has got in contact with me and she wishes to use the video to show to prospective sponsors for future fairs which is really cool!
A short Flash animation on Information Overload that Padraig Birch, Patrick Clarke and myself produced for a college assignment.
The animation looks at information overload and the negative affects the constant bombardment of adverts has on us.
A short video I made as part of a college assignment. The assignment was titled “Creative Self” and the brief was very broad and open to anything and everything.
I chose to do a stop motion animation using lego. I think it works quite nicely and I’d be interested to hear what you guys think!
A short piece that myself (@sean_smyth) and Patrick (@NeverMonkey) worked on for college.
A short Composition that I had to do for College. I had to incorporate some elements of an animation I made, original footage I shot, found video and music in whatever way I could. It was my first time doing anything apart from chopping up clips in Final Cut Express so don’t judge to harshly. Oh, and it was done ages ago.
I love Google’s videos for Chrome. So creative.

Kinetic Typography. I really can’t get enough of this stuff. It really is wonderful to watch and it’s really is just so impressive what can be done with just text. Here is a collection of some of the best ones I’ve come across over the past 2 weeks or so.
And this guy combines the typography with real footage to really cool effect.
This dude is kind enough to explain how it’s done.

Anyone have any better ones to show off or link to? I’m gonna try my hand at this over the summer. It can’t be that hard, riiiiiight?
